It has been 121 days since I last posted a page. Reasons for my absence were plenty. Rest and relaxation is one. Getting closer to God is another. Finding motivation and inspiration has also been a goal of mine. Mantras have been a phenomenon that I have been obsessed with for a while now. By definition a mantra is a motivating chant (think of a track and fielder repeating to him/or herself "I can do it" while running to the finish line). Whether you are a college freshman or a 65-year-old senior citizen we all have a race to run. From the corner boy to the white-collar worker, we all have a race to run. Pushing aside our many differences will give us the ability to achieve and live out our dreams.
The world we live in is a dark and sad place. As decay and despair surround us on a daily basis, we should have the right to express ourselves through any means. I don't care if you rap. I don't care if you sing. I don't care if you dance. I don't care if you do art. I don't care if you do comedy. Whatever it is that you decide to indulge yourself in make sure you don't hurt yourself or others in the process.
I don't care how long or short one's mantra is. A businessman's mantra may be "the bigger the better." An artist's mantra may be "the brighter the colors the more people will see it." A comedian's mantra may be "the better the punchline the more laughs I will get." No matter what your status is we all have mantras. You can be taking out the garbage or washing the dishes. As long as you repeat a motivating chant to yourself to get a task completed that's all that matters.
There is a young woman with dyed hair, piercings, and a sweet personality who I'm writing this for. There is a young man who has locks, dark skin, and plays violin who I'm writing this for. There is a 50-year-old woman that has been a business owner since January 1, 2024, who I'm writing this for. There is a 70-year-old man receiving his bachelor's degree who I'm writing this for. I know for certain that a percentage of people will criticize me for not bringing up race, politics, or other social issues. My response to this percentage of people is despite my ethnicity and nationality I will always write for people.
Together (individually and collectively) we must unite and live our passions out loud. Tough skin is a must if one wants to survive. Ignore haters and critics at all times. Work hard enough to where you will see improvements within every aspect of your life. Let our lights shine brighter than the morning sun so every power that be can witness each of us glowing in our endless joys. Moments of sadness carry the most happiness. Moments of happiness carry the most sadness. Remember to live your life one level at a time.
Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. Welcome to The Mantra.
