10-5-4

Challenges are life's way of testing and grooming us to live out our legacies and callings. If this is the case than why not beat life to the punch and challenge ourselves. 10-5-4 is a challenge that best suits me on a daily basis. This challenge is not about boasting or "intellectual gangbanging." But for self-fulfillment and self-discovery. Before I move forward, I recommend that each person does what is best for them and not to do things out of pressure or to leave an impression on one's peers.

10 stands for reading 10 Bible scriptures. The scriptures can be a mix of Old and New Testament. You can read five verses from Psalms and five verses from Proverbs. 10 also represents putting God first. Before I was formed in my mother's womb God knew me. This path that I'm walking on has a light in the distance. God is that light.

5 stands for reading 5 chapters of a book. The genre of the book can be of your choosing. 5 also represents focus. Focus helps us concentrate on the tasks in front of us. When we focus on things that truly matter to us our lives become so much simpler. To focus is a hard activity to practice. As I write this, I'm focusing to get this done.

4 stands for writing or typing 4 pages. These 4 pages that you are writing or typing is up to you. 4 also represents passion. Life without passion is pointless. Passion gives us the boost that we need to move forward. If it wasn't for passion, I wouldn't be doing what I love to do. Passion wakes us up in the morning. Passion even makes the earth rotate on its axis. Passion makes things act and move. Each and every one of us must find our passion(s) before we take our last breath.

12am approaches and I have completed the 10-5-4 challenge. Sometimes I would feel accomplished. Sometimes I would feel disappointed. But as long as I had put in the effort into it that was all that mattered. I called this a challenge not a competition. Whether you chop it up into three quarters of the day or do it all at once doing the challenge is all that counts.

I do not see myself as a master teacher, but as a student in constant search of himself. Waking up every morning my goal is to learn and discover something new. Not being where I want to be in life doesn't make me feel discouraged, but eager to work harder. Falling a thousand times makes me want to get up a thousand times more. Despite it all here I am to tell you my lessons and experiences. If you ever see me walking pass you just know that I'm no different than you.
